I've been playing the hell out of Pokemon Y and I finally did it -- I got a shiny ralts. 
Albeit, the nature is crap, but hey, shiny is shiny. I'll allow it.

A letter From Myself

I found this interesting. From roughly a year ago, at the end of 2012 :
"
Dear future self,
I am currently writing this letter in AP Lit as part of an assignment. James is sitting in front of me, with Ryan in front of him, and his mother, the teacher, is at her desk. In class, there is also Rebecca, Shelly, Ian, Susan, both Sams, Sarah, Eric, and others whose names escape me. The paper from last Christmas day they had in here, where they tried to make it look covered in snow, still coats a single wall. You fell asleep in math class, Stats, because you stayed up all night talking to Karissa, or Reina, whatever it is you know her by. We haven't talked to Jackie in two days, and it is killing us, unfortunately, but I'm sure you'll still see her. You have the online alias of Mars Marino, and keep up with your friends and cousins Dakota and Tyler via the internet. But, what of you, my future self? How is life in college, after so much has happened? I'm currently dreading graduation, but I'm sure it'll be nothing looking back on it. And, you are smart, I'm sure you'll do fine in school by the time you have read this. And again, did you keep the goal we've set? Because when you read this, you'll be a year closer to Jackie, or, if that for some reason didn't work out, I'm sure there is or will be someone else, right? Life is long enough so that you can wait, yet short enough that you should enjoy it! Also, at this moment I'm about to have to take the bus home, to see what mom has in store for me for not showing, so...fun! But that will all be trivial to you by then, right? Remember, just keep pushing, you've got things to look forward to!

Oh, if only I had known, I suppose. Plans change so quickly. The friends, places, reasons, goals...they all change so fast. I ended my final year of high school with a 4.325 GPA and was ranked 7th in my class, and we got a full ride to college. However, none of the friends listed are people I still talk to. But yes, even despite loss, there is hope. New people and places emerge, bringing new friends and new opportunities. Sometimes I wish I could talk to them again, or relive a moment in time, but ultimately we cannot; thus, we keep pushing forward, towards what I believe is a brighter future. It's about time I put the past behind me.
So, merry Christmas everyone, and I wish you the best as we move into the new year...and, thank you.
